Summer 2026

This summer, a lot of our staff took their vacations. We did have a few programs and workshops here and there!

In June, we had some of our regular programming, as well as a 1-on-1 slipper making workshop. Anita made a beautiful pair of slippers!

In July, we hosted an Elder’s Tea Time where we played a fun game of Inuttitut Jeopardy.

We also volunteered with Hopedale’s annual Rhubarb Festival.

Even though we didn’t place in the Cardboard Boat Race, we sure had fun!

In August, Team Member Kim Pilgrim was honoured to attend the Pilimmaksaijuliriniq Gathering in Rankin Inlet.

“Last week, we welcomed front-line community workers from across Inuit Nunaat to Rankin Inlet for a week of learning, sharing, and connection, made possible by the Inuit Nunaat Fund. Participants crafted while they listened, sat with Elders, ate country food, and heard Inuktitut spoken throughout the week. Our Elders reminded everyone of something simple but powerful: keep sharing your story, keep trying even when you don't feel ready, and never give up on yourself”.

This summer some team members kept busy giving our programming space in our shed an upgrade! We look forward to hosting community engagements, youth nights, Inuttitut socials, and more out here this fall!
