In June, Inotsiavik partnered with NunaKatiget in Happy Valley Goose Bay to hold a caribou antler earring making workshop. Inotsiavik’s Kim Pilgrim instructed 8 participants.
We hope to return to Happy Valley Goose Bay again in the future to hold more programming!
In July, Inotsiavik’s Vanessa and Nicholas Flowers focused on online Inuttitut learning sessions.
They taught about Inuttut family terminology, as well as aujak (summer) Inuttut terminology as part of the Piusivut Series.
Keep an eye out for more Inuttut online programming this coming fall!
Also in July, Inotsiavik was invited to Nunatsiavut’s 2025 Regional Elder’s Conference held in Rigolet. Vanessa and Nicholas attended, providing Inuttut lessons, games, crafts, and support. We were honoured to be a part of this meaningful gathering, and look forward to attending the next one!
In August, our full time team members spent a majority of the month on holidays.
However, we did take to Facebook Live to light the Kullik and share some stories.
We also started again with our grammar drop-in sessions, which happen bi-weekly on Sundays. See our Facebook page for specific dates!
